Hotfile

As you might have noticed, most (if not all) Hotfile.com links have stopped working and this is because Hotfile started mass-banning users due to “repeated copyright infringement violations.”

Feel free to leave your thoughts.

  2. brian says:

sucks, but the thing is… theres more file hosting sites, also, why not get hosting like an ftp, then just host the files there, like a offshore hosting?

  3. chris says:

    u can always use 4gb.in.
if i get any dcma, i have 5 similar sites that i will just mirror to another site.

    simple.

  4. brian says:

Hey Mr. Warchain I was wondering if you would allow me to release some files, Graphicriver, Codecanyon, GameSiteTemplates.com logos (They are sick, and no one else has EVER released items from them) and many others from other sites.

I have in total 313 files in RAR, zip, psd formats.

Also, some sources from TutsPlus+ site from when I was a member.

I would be happy to become a poster. :)

    • bubbagump says:

just an FYI most nettuts have already been released. there’s about 15GB of tutorials that have been floating around the net for a year or so.

other than that I’d like to see what you have.

  5. chris says:

also can use miniurl.in from 4gb.in
i dont do adfly, dont make you wait…….just uploads / downlaods

  6. bubbagump says:

I’m not convinced this was a mass banning. I don’t know of many people who’s accounts were closed even though they post 10 times the amount I do. I think this was targeted. It’s possible the admin at hotfile is a member of some of these VIP forums, or the mods at the VIP forums tipped off envato and pointed them to the infringing websites I post to. I only received a couple of copyright notices from hotfile.

these account closures were intentional. I’m sure it also has to do with hotfile not wanting to pay out to high earning affiliates.

  7. winegirl says:

    Mediafire.com

free downlaoding no waiting, no captcha and always up.
    or rapishare.com or sharemol.com

the uplaod file scammers who want to make money off of illegal uploads won’t make money but it sure beats filesonic uploading etc etc. is it about sharing or making money from stolen software?

    • bubbagump says:

ouch! laying it on a bit thick aren’t you? I really don’t see myself as a scammer, and technically everything was going fine until someone fingered me at hotfile.

What other alternative would you prefer? a membership site? Unfortunately they don’t work so well. I’m still trying to come up with the perfect biz plan to support such a warez venture though. I was thinking of a credit system or a tiered membership site with a large free area for everyone. Otherwise I couldn’t afford to share stuff.

  8. Hugh Jardon says:

First we had the tw@ts at Rapidshare doing this. Now it looks like its Hotfile.

No great shakes, as we’ll probably move onto a more sympathetic filehosting service soon ;-)

  9. Sophia says:

It’s very sad, hope you can continue your amazing work with Hotfile with another account or use as a file Mirror, Hotfile is a great service.

  10. Christian says:

hotfile s*cks, Filesonic & Fileserve are the best for share

  11. I Wear Shades says:

i think share on different upload server would be great idea & for your site expenses we are ready to donate. Keep your site alive!

am offering 30$ for your site….

  13. Stoppirates says:

Your job very bad!!!!! Because people create products for sale and for their projects many time, but you share with Envanto products for free!!!!

  14. stoppiratesisenvato says:

lol — stoppirates is definately part of envato, otherwise wtf would he be doing on a warez site?

    from ars technica:

File locker Hotfile.com has found itself the next target of the Motion Picture Association of America’s war on file sharing. The MPAA announced Tuesday that it had filed a lawsuit against Hotfile on behalf of 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, Columbia Pictures, and Warner Bros. accusing the site of direct infringement, facilitating copyright infringement “on a staggering scale,” and raking in the cash while doing it.

The MPAA argues that Hotfile not only encourages its users to upload illegal content, but actively discourages them from uploading files for personal use, because the site offers incentives for users to upload the most popular files (which invariably end up being copyrighted movies). And because the site charges membership fees before people can download the content uploaded by others, the MPAA says Hotfile “profits richly while paying nothing to the studios” for the bootleg files.

“In less than two years Hotfile has become one of the 100 most trafficked sites in the world. That is a direct result of the massive digital theft that Hotfile promotes,” MPAA general counsel Daniel Mandil said in a statement. “The theft taking place on Hotfile is unmistakable. Their files are indeed ‘hot’ as in ‘stolen.’ It’s wrong and it must stop.”

The charges in the MPAA’s complaint include direct infringement (as Hotfile is the one distributing the works), inducement of infringement, contributory infringement, and vicarious infringement (for making a profit on infringing files). The DMCA’s Safe Harbor provisions should protect site operators from being held liable for content uploaded by users, but the MPAA claims that the site continues to compensate its users for uploading popular files even after having received takedown notices. If Hotfile admins had direct knowledge of infringement, but failed to do anything about it like the MPAA says, then Safe Harbor isn’t going to provide any protection.

The other catch is that Hotfile doesn’t provide any sort of index or listing of the files that have been uploaded by members. Instead, the site relies entirely on third-party sites to link to the files, and the MPAA argues in its complaint that “almost all of these link sites are blatant pirate sites.” In fact, the complaint alleges that Hotfile paid various sites to promote its links, knowing that most of the files being linked were illegal.

The lawsuit against Hotfile is hardly surprising; content creators are constantly fighting traditional torrent sites and other P2P offerings, and have increasingly gone after cyberlockers and cloud storage solutions for helping users trade copyrighted music, movies, and TV shows. The MPAA wants Hotfile to be shut down, of course, but would also like a cut of whatever juicy profits might be found.

    • bubbagump says:

thanks for posting that. I also found out other warez posters had their accounts cancelled too. dumb luck it had to happen this week when I released a lot of envato warez. such a bummer

  19. winegirl says:

take a look at sites like rslog blog and sites like warezbb or avaxhome where scene wannabes fill the forums Count how many MediaFire or sharemole links any of those sites have Usually none

There’s about 6-8 dozen spammers that snag 0day bloated files and then flood sites with links from hotfile but I also see lately they now have 3 favourites, filesonic, fileserve, hotfile and duckload to earn their quicky bucks off n00bs downloading their bloated scene spam where they have included additional files mostly large mp3 files to noost the size of their files

  20. winegirl says:

Maybe someone from the HF system has an account here

Read the Janis Ian’s pageson music piracy http://www.janisian.com/reading/fallout.php (sorry but as I was just turned on to thhose pages I hope some will be able to use them in many ways) and sites like WarChain might be able to uses some of that in their defense also. It would be nice if such would be used in one of these court cases to show the judges and jurors when used the reality of exactly what and how these groups screw the artists and the only ones it helps at all is the Studios and the studios don’t do that much for the artists either in respect to royalties etc.

Ok there is my rant so to speak … although I don’t like hotfile or fileserve or filesonic service and how they attract the up-loaders, I still hope them well in fighting the the beast and any other group such as NOAA & RIAA also

  21. filiphch says:

    I’m prefer hotfile, or Mediafire

  22. Chakintosh says:

Please use Mediafire (Unlimited downloads per IP) along with other sharing sites for the same link (mirrors)

    Thanks for sharing

  23. brian says:

Hey warchain, can I release some graphic river stuff? Please email me if you want to talk to me.

  24. Collis says:

We may think of a hotfile clone :-)
    cloneforest or warezriver … :-D

  25. Iloveit says:

    Yeah they are retards.

I got few accounts for some sites, If you ever need some for faster upload, Don’t be shy and ask me.
    (Thru email)

  26. Andy says:

you can always use torrent sites, like demonoid ;)

  27.        says:

not all, undo has money to buy the garbage that sells Envato warchain is a great website you can upload to multiple servers and have a direct ftp service faster Envato the boys tell them if they do not want to pirate their work then do not sell online or go up to anyone and that they are for themselves lol.
warchain long live the best web site of the scene

  28. mimi says:

What a bummer. Keep the site up please. I want to share files that I’ve downloaded so far with you.

  29. Hugh Jardon says:

How much is the warchain site and domain being sold for? Would an offer of $10,000 be in the right ball-park?

  30. rev says:

use megaupload and mediafire instead HF or RS, and use linksafe.me
    also use randomize file name

  31. Rick says:

Well said winegirl I couldn’t agree more with what you said about bloated files just so they can earn. Am sick of downloading 6MB+ files when the actual file is only a few kb.

  32. bubbagump says:

Anton Titov and Constantin Luchian @ HOTFILE can suck my sweaty meatballs. Bunch of greasy fingered motherfuckers who refuse to honor their agreements!!!!

  33. Hugh Jardon says:

Are we all switching to Filesonic then?

  34. connac says:

Thanks for the posts and the uploads in the past. I just cancelled my Hotfile and rapidshare subscription as they both are mass deleting files.. I stumbled across Warchain by accident and I must say it’s one of the best , if not the best resource on the net for templates and skins. Keep up the good work!

  35. connac says:

Thanks for your message, hotfile is indeed a massive pain in the ass as they delete a lot of files at the moment. I am thinking of cancelling my subscription..

If anyone can share this template ‘Template Monster – 28635 – Magento’ or reupload it again i would be very thankful. If necessary I can get you one month free rapidshare or hotfile!

  36. lester says:

Use box.net they never remove your content just buy a premium account and thats it!

  37. haantj says:

Downloaders’ accounts aren’t being terminated. It’s people who upload.

However, if an uploader does have a paid account (which many don’t) and if they do get it cancelled for contravening the terms of service which they agreed to when they signed up then I don’t see the problem.

And it’s the same for people who upload using free accounts.

In both of these situations the users quite rightly have no comeback or cause for complaint if Hotfile decide to terminate their accounts without paying them or refunding their subscriptions.

In neither case is “Hotfile stealing money”, it’s the end user breaking the rules which they agreed to abide by. It’s their fault, nobody else’s.

And the problem you see with that is what?

  38. winegirl says:

    warezqueens (dot com) reports:
Suddenly we had reports of accounts being deleted without warning.
Now we have the full legal info.
For those who can read legal words, go here

The Court Complaint docs are here
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/48444861/Hotfile-Complaint-2-8-11

For now we suggest you put any plans to get a Hotfile account on hold.

Hotfile Goes To War Against Copyright Infringers
Apparently they’re targeting uploaders and everything they’ve uploaded, not specific files.
This is clearly not an isolated incident. On the contrary, recent Hotfile account suspensions are widespread. This morning TorrentFreak was invited to a private IRC channel and there we had a chat with individuals who had all lost premium accounts this week.

In our discussions with these and other people affected by the account suspensions, a common theme was developing. All had been operating premium accounts at Hotfile for some time, some of them for two years. Movies and TV shows were the major items being uploaded and all individuals were being paid weekly through Hotfile’s reward program.

Then this week they were all locked out of their accounts,

  40. annoyer says:

i have an question, are that hotfile accounts where that files had been, deleted too? or just the files are deleted and the accounts are staying with no changes?

  41. cubaton3 says:

mediafire.com it’s the best file sharing website.

  42. Mkd says:

Yes i think we use mediafire

  43. Maddy says:

Yes Mediafire is best . please consider our suggestions

  44. nehz says:

can you guys download this stuff?
    http://medialoot.com/browse/print_templates/

there are some nice graphic resources and templates. it’s $19 a month. unlimited downloads.
this would be a great addition to warchain.com.

    what do you guys think?

  45. nehz says:

ahahah OMG you guys are so fucking awesome!
I just made a request yesterday and it’s already here!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOO!!!
    :D
God should provide you hosting so that no DMCA shit can bother you. xD

  46. miguel says:

Im agree with Maddy and Mediafire is the best solution!

  47. nehz says:

    Can we get these:
    http://graphicriver.net/item/infographic-elements-01/133402
    http://graphicriver.net/item/professional-proposal-pack-business-cards/137381
    http://graphicriver.net/item/full-corporate-id-package-dreamland/101553
    http://graphicriver.net/item/full-corporate-id-package-color/66866
    ?

PS: I agree on hosting elsewhere too… Maybe someone can mirror everything on Mediafire?
Having one site for downloading is not cool as most of us download as free users so we have
annoying waiting times. Uploaders should creates accounts else where and upload there too.
They will spread their risk as well as their income.

  48. Angus says:

WTF , most say “mediafire is the best” but mediafire NOT PAY to UPLOADERS, Warchain gives us very valuable to not have any benefit. Buy premium membership for the links of Filesonic and forget mediafire and will be helping this excellent site to follow his path, we can all help!

  49. cantre says:

I would buy a Account to support this Site.. but definitely not for Filesonic.. that Hoster just sucks Monkey Balls..

  50. Steven West says:

I agree, Filesonic & Fileserve are pretty much the best.

But keep up the good work :P Really enjoy looking on this website.
